Our Story
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence presents both extraordinary opportunities and complex challenges for education systems worldwide. In Nigeria, home to Africa's largest education sector, serving over 40 million learners across vastly different contexts, the need for thoughtful, coordinated action on AI integration is especially urgent.
Yet as AI tools proliferate in classrooms and administrative offices alike, Nigeria's education stakeholders have lacked a dedicated, structured platform for cross-sector dialogue on what responsible AI adoption should look like. Decisions about AI in education have largely been made in silos (by individual institutions, technology providers, or government agencies) without the benefit of sustained, evidence-based conversation across boundaries.
FAINE was established to fill this gap. Based at the AI Readiness Centre within Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, the Forum brings together the diverse voices that must be part of this conversation: educators who understand classroom realities, policymakers who shape regulatory frameworks, researchers who generate evidence, and industry leaders who develop the technologies being deployed.

Our Mission
To convene education stakeholders in Nigeria towards the shaping of how artificial intelligence is adopted and integrated in Nigerian education through sustained dialogue, reflections, and evidence-based policy engagement.

FAINE operates through a collaborative governance model designed to ensure independence, credibility, and broad representation across Nigeria's educational landscape.
The forum's activities are guided by its Faculty Fellows — an interdisciplinary network of thought leaders drawn from academia, government, industry, and civil society — who contribute to shaping discussions, reviewing policy recommendations, and participating in convenings.
